About Me:
Like everyone I’ve faced challenges in life. One that I’m most keen on is that of social disrupt. I push the envelope of acceptable behavior. It started off innocently enough by wearing shirts that clearly defied the established dress code. The most memorable of which was when a teacher told a fellow student to turn his shirt inside out for what it said. The student asked why I didn't have to, which the teacher replied “you just worry about yourself.” I was a good student, and whatever I was doing must have been working. So instead of risking I change by forcing petty rules on me, I was allowed to do almost anything I wanted. I had mastered this realm and moved onto the real world. Now 13, I started with petty theft from the local businesses and shops at the mall. Nothing was really too expensive. The largest was 30$ worth of jerky. This then migrated into under age smoking and drinking, which matured into felony level theft from a local video store, and concluded with devious deed in the basement.
That 5 year lawless span was stunted first at 13 with an underage drinking charge, which resulted in a 50$ fine to take alcoholic classes. At the time, early July 98, they didn't have any alcoholics to group me with so my group consisted of a girl in for marijuana, and a couple guys in for X, speed, and a handful of other drugs. All of them were 17 or older. One story I still remember was from the girl, when she told of her older brother and his friends pinning her down forcing her to smoke pot. She told it with such emotion, though I can't remember her name, she intrigued me. It wasn't meant though. But as always I recommend these classes to everyone. It's a great way to spend a week especially if you haven't really done anything.
Another bump in this road came when I was caught by the video clerk. After ripping off, close to 700$ worth of merchandise with my friends the clerk played a bluff and we fell for it. He didn't press charges but instead wanted all of his things returned, which they were with the exception of one N64 game. Our punishment was work a day for him. It wasn't hard work and he actually bought us lunch.
Obviously none of this brought pride to my family, but the grand majority of what really happened they didn't know. Actually it wasn't until I was 17 that my dad found out about the underage drinking. His neighbor had found out from random town talk and mentioned it to him. My dad first accused me of lying, and I basically told him it wasn't his business, he wasn't a part of my life. He then told my mother's parents who also didn't know. They told him they didn't care, I'm a good kid and it wasn't any of their business anyway. I really do love them.
